Hints: hpa-not-scaling

Hint 1

The HPA is not scaling pods. Check its status: - kubectl get hpa -n grokdevops - kubectl describe hpa -n grokdevops

Hint 2

The issue is likely metrics-related. Check: - Is metrics-server running? kubectl get pods -n kube-system | grep metrics - Does kubectl top pods work? - Are CPU requests defined on the deployment?

Hint 3

HPA requires CPU/memory requests to calculate utilization percentage. Check: - kubectl get deployment grokdevops -n grokdevops -o jsonpath='{.spec.template.spec.containers[0].resources.requests}' - If empty, HPA cannot compute target percentage and shows <unknown>

Hint 4

Fix: add cpu requests to the deployment (e.g., requests.cpu: 100m) and ensure metrics-server is installed (helm install metrics-server metrics-server/metrics-server -n kube-system).
