Hints: latency-spike¶
Hint 1¶
Response times are elevated. Check resource usage:
- kubectl top pods -n grokdevops
- kubectl top nodes
Hint 2¶
The issue is likely resource-related. Check:
- Is CPU near the limit? (CPU throttling)
- Are there enough replicas? kubectl get hpa -n grokdevops
- Was there a recent deployment? helm history grokdevops -n grokdevops | tail -3
Hint 3¶
Narrow down to the bottleneck:
- CPU throttled: increase cpu limits or add replicas
- Memory pressure: check for swap or OOM risk
- Application-level: check logs for slow queries or timeouts
- kubectl logs -n grokdevops <pod> --tail=20
Hint 4¶
Fix: scale up replicas, increase resource limits, or address the application bottleneck. Use Grafana dashboards (port-forward to 3000) to see the latency distribution and identify the slowest endpoints.
