Grading Checklist¶
- Used LLDP on the server to identify the actual connected switch and port
- Compared LLDP output with the expected cabling plan
- Identified the cable is physically in the wrong switch port
- Verified the wrong port's VLAN (50/dev) vs. expected (320/prod)
- Proposed moving the cable to the correct port (Eth1/33) as the fix
- Recommended verifying the correct port is configured for VLAN 320 before moving the cable
- Suggested releasing the DHCP lease on the dev VLAN before moving
- Mentioned checking the cable label accuracy and updating if needed
- Recommended auditing other servers from the same installation batch
- Addressed the security concern of a production server being on the dev VLAN (even briefly)
- Suggested implementing LLDP-based automated cabling verification as a process improvement
