Symptoms: iDRAC Unreachable, OS Up

  • Server app-web-22 (Dell PowerEdge R640) has an unreachable iDRAC management interface.
  • The host OS (Ubuntu 22.04) is running normally -- SSH works, services are healthy.
  • iDRAC IP 10.50.1.122 does not respond to ping, HTTPS, or SSH from the management VLAN.
  • The issue was noticed during a routine health check. Last known iDRAC access was 5 days ago.
  • iDRAC is configured on a dedicated management NIC (not shared with the OS).
  • Other servers on the same management VLAN/switch are reachable.
  • No network changes or firmware updates have been performed recently.
  • The server is in a remote datacenter -- physical access requires a 2-hour drive or a remote hands request.
