Questions to Determine

  • Is the iLO dedicated NIC or shared NIC being used? Is it configured correctly (speed, duplex)?
  • Is there packet loss or high latency on the management network path to this specific iLO?
  • Is the iLO NIC running at the expected speed (1Gbps) or has it auto-negotiated to 100Mbps or 10Mbps?
  • Are there switch port errors (CRC, runts, collisions) on the port where the iLO NIC is connected?
  • Is the iLO firmware up to date? Are there known bugs with the current version?
  • Is the iLO under resource pressure (too many concurrent sessions, active media mount)?
  • Is there a network duplex mismatch between the iLO NIC and the switch port?
  • Could there be an IP conflict with another device on the management VLAN?
  • Is the management VLAN experiencing broadcast storms or excessive traffic?
