Symptoms: Remote KVM/Console Extremely Laggy

  • A technician needs to troubleshoot a boot issue on an HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 via iLO remote console.
  • The HTML5 remote console takes 15-30 seconds to render each screen update.
  • Keyboard input is delayed by 10+ seconds, making interactive troubleshooting impossible.
  • The Java-based IRC (Integrated Remote Console) crashes with a Java exception after connecting.
  • Other iLO web UI pages (health, power, etc.) load slowly but are functional.
  • The iLO management IP is on a dedicated management VLAN (VLAN 100) with a /24 subnet.
  • Other servers on the same management VLAN respond normally via their BMCs.
  • The problem persists from multiple admin workstations.
  • Ping to the iLO IP shows intermittent packet loss (5-10%) and variable latency (2ms to 800ms).
